A Little Good News In This Upside Down World
By: Geoff Atkinson, Founder-CEO of Huckabuy
Huckabuy announces record-growth in April, big hiring push.
Business is booming at Huckabuy. I’m deeply humbled by it and it makes me feel awkward at times to be completely honest.
We had our best sales and marketing months ever in April of 2020 and May is looking even better.
What I call “the plumbing of the internet,” companies like Zoom, Cloudflare, and Huckabuy are necessary right now. It is evident that our products meet the demands of the new economy. From our vantage point, marketers are abandoning paid advertising in droves to double and triple down on the most scalable and sustainable channel available in the trade: search engine optimization.
How did we get here? Over the last year or so, we made the right bets. First, we productized Google’s dynamic rendering and structured data markup initiatives. Then, we formed a partnership with Cloudflare – one of the world’s leading global cloud platforms – to leverage a new technical SEO standard: edge delivery of websites for our customers. And finally, with our seed round of funding from Album VC, Kickstart Seed Fund, and Forward VC this past December, we were able to kick off the next stage of growth for our company.
There are no plans to stay neutral during this time – we are playing offense. Huckabuy is on a mission to disrupt the $80B SEO services industry and the $330B digital advertising industry at large with software. And that means we are hiring on all fronts. In particular, we are looking for a SVP of Sales to help us take advantage of this growth.
So again, we are humbled by the surge, we are grateful for our health, and we are excited by the work ahead of us. If you are a business looking to return to marketing fundamentals, now is the time to invest in SEO. All the research on recession-time business tactics bears this out. Likewise, if you are a sales leader looking to join a fast-growing startup with a bold mission, let’s talk. We are looking for game-changers.
