What is Huckabuy Indexing?
After completing the Huckabuy Cloud onboarding process, our services will begin indexing your website using a few different methods:
- Using the Google Search Console to pull what URLs Google has indexed from your website over the past 18 months
- Your website’s own sitemap(s)
- (Optionally) Manually importing a plain text file of which URLs you would like Huckabuy to index
All of these methods build Huckabuy’s own index of your website and once the process completes, our services will begin attempting to render & optimize each URL.
How often does Huckabuy’s Index Update?
Once a month, Huckabuy will compare its own unique index of your website against what Google has indexed in the past 30 days. Any URLs missing from Huckabuy’s index are added and then processed for optimization.
In addition to the automated updates, you can submit a URL to Huckabuy’s index via your website’s Huckabuy Cloud page in the Dashboard. Any URL submitted via this method will be processed for optimization the following morning.
NOTE: Sometimes Huckabuy will have a URL in its index that Google does not. This may be a newly published URL that Google has not yet indexed or it is an outdated URL that your website is no longer serving (e.g. an old promotional page or event).
If it is a newly published URL, there are a variety of factors that will affect how long it takes Google to index it, but as long as Google can efficiently crawl your website and you are serving meaningful content, a new page will typically be indexed in several weeks.
As long as you are using Huckabuy’s Dynamic Rendering product, we’ll make sure Google can crawl your website fast & efficiently so you can focus on just the content.
